41721 Certificate IV in Surveying and Spatial Information Services (Surveying)

This qualification has been crafted to closely resemble the Australian CPP41721 – Certificate IV in Surveying and Spatial Information Services (Release 1) in its entirety training.gov.au – CPP41721 – Certificate IV in Surveying and Spatial Information Services. Hence, both teachers and students must adhere rigorously to the course guidelines.

Training package status: Current

This qualification reflects the role of entry-level technicians who work under supervision to assist a surveying or spatial information team. Surveying and spatial information skills are applied in various industry contexts, including town planning, civil construction, mining, engineering, health, agriculture and defence. Survey technicians perform various duties using surveying tools and equipment, including total stations and global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), supporting any data management skills.

Tuesday to Thursday 8.00 am to 4.30 pm

Face-to-face training plus 4 – 8 hours per week of self-paced online learning (homework) (Except the vacation)

Location

Training is undertaken in the classroom and out in the field. The training locations are based in Colombo 7 and are easily accessible by car or bus.  Learners are responsible for getting themselves to and from the training locations.

Entry requirements

Learners are required to:

  • Numeracy skills and English reading, writing and spoken language skills at Australian year 10 or equivalent and for international learners IELTS 5.5 (at least each band 5.5)
  • Have access to a computer and internet
  • Posses computer skills to navigate websites and complete basis word processing tasks

Learners are required to supply the following:

  • Closed in shoes suitable for working in parks and gardens
  • Loose fitting long sleeve shirt and pants for sun protection
  • Wide brimmed hat for sun protection
